The Last Art Stand
Entry for the Gamedev.tv 2024 GameJam. Theme: Last Stand. Post-Jam updates will be going to: https://vib.itch.io/last-stand2
Intructions:
- Click on the Art Stand, pick a painting, pick a wall to place it on.
- You can press S to toggle speed up.
- F to toggle Fullscreen.
Paintings:
- Liberty leading the people: High single target damage, medium range
- Drawing Hands by Escher: Area damage, high range
- Mona Lisa: Insta-kill anything, slow cooldown, low range
Made with Godot, Affinity Designer and Audacity. In-game art, code and voiceover by myself.
Existing assets used:
- Music: You can't beat the machine by Komiko
- SFX: Freesounds.org, itch.io Filmcow's free SFX pack and Kenney.nl
- Wooden Ground tiles from Textures.com
- AI art screens in intro made with Google's Gemini and Microsoft's Copilot. Yes, it's a game about how much AI art sucks that uses AI art itself to convey that message. That's the joke.

Missing features I couldn't finish in time for the Game Jam: Range indicator for towers. More detailed description for towers. More Levels. More towers, specially Mona Lisa turning into Botero's fat Mona Lisa after eating too much. And, of course, more polish as always. Might add those in the future after Jam rating deadline.

This way I can update the game post Jam while leaving the Jam version intact to what was submitted before the deadline.
